In this exclusive interview, Blanca Bleis, CEO and Founder of Bleis Madrid, shares her recent trip to Los Cabos organized by NUBA.

The Importance of Travel in the Creative Process
NUBA: Blanca, as Creative Director of Bleis Madrid, how important is travel for your creative process?
Blanca Bleis: Besides being the CEO of Bleis Madrid, I am also the Creative Director. These roles are completely opposite, so taking time to disconnect and step out of the management routine is vital before starting a creative process. Traveling and discovering a new destination is truly inspiring; it allows deep immersion in another country’s culture and helps forget the known, which for me is the most powerful source of creation. Traveling with NUBA makes this experience of connecting with nature, culture, and gastronomy a true luxury.
Luxury Experiences and Nature in Los Cabos
NUBA: What aspects of Los Cabos did you find most notable in terms of luxury and nature?
Blanca Bleis: Los Cabos is truly unique. Its wild nature, the vibrant sea, and endless beaches are a luxury in themselves. Enjoying all this from a place like Zadún, where all five senses are stimulated, makes the experience truly transformative.
NUBA: Was there a particular moment that left a lasting impression during your stay?
Blanca Bleis: I would highlight two moments. The first was the “Art Walk” in Los Cabos, where art, music, and local gastronomy come together to showcase the talent of this magical place. I discovered impressive artists who greatly inspired me as a creative, giving me ideas for the color palette of my Spring-Summer 2024 collection.
The second unforgettable moment was whale watching by sailboat in Cabo San Lucas. Sailing the incredible waters of the Sea of Cortez and seeing the whales swim beside us was an experience organized by NUBA that I highly recommend.
Zadún, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve
NUBA: How would you describe the exclusivity of your stay at Zadún?
Blanca Bleis: From the moment you enter the Zadún Reserve, the service is entirely personalized. You are assigned a tosoani, a person who attends to you throughout your stay to ensure you lack nothing and can truly relax and enjoy a rejuvenating experience.
One thing that touched me deeply was the attention to detail and the care we received. One day after an excursion, we returned to find the bathtub carefully prepared with a cheese board and wine to relax after hours outside.
Another unforgettable detail was a gift I received: two collars for my dogs with their names embroidered, which I cherish to this day.
NUBA: Zadún’s spa is renowned worldwide. How was your experience there?
Blanca Bleis: It’s undoubtedly the most special spa I’ve ever been to. Alkemia aims to stimulate all five senses with a massage featuring local aromas, a water circuit set in nature, and a break with healthy snacks between treatment phases. It was a truly unique experience.
Recommendations and Secrets of Los Cabos
NUBA: What secret tips can you share about Los Cabos for future travelers?
Blanca Bleis: My passion for gastronomy is no secret. After traveling, eating is what inspires me the most. Did you know that taste stimulates parts of the brain that are crucial in the creative process?
You must try the local shrimp governor tacos at Taquería El Paisa in San José del Cabo. For a special dinner, I recommend Lumbre, where Chef César Pita excels with grilled dishes. His zarandeado fish and octopus are incredible.
NUBA: Besides Los Cabos’ wonderful gastronomy, did you have the chance to explore the region’s wines?
Blanca Bleis: Yes, with a fantastic private tasting. I had heard about the rich wines of Baja California, and getting to know them firsthand through Zadún’s experts was delightful. I believe understanding a place’s gastronomy helps you understand its culture. The incredible mix of US and Mexican influences in the wine was fascinating.
NUBA: Can you share a special anecdote from your trip?
Blanca Bleis: Participating in a temazcal was very special. It’s a pre-Hispanic ritual involving medicinal herb vapors in a closed space, guided by a shaman through the elements of water, wind, earth, and sun. The goal is to return to life’s essence to purify the soul, mind, and body. It was transformative, filled with reflection and retrospection, making me appreciate the truly important things and ending the trip renewed.
The use of chants and the colors of ancestral decorations awakened my creative side. On the flight back, I felt very inspired, and many patterns for our summer collection emerged from that.
Sustainability: A Commitment Embedded in Every Experience
Through her journey, Blanca found inspiration and renewal, along with a confirmation of her own values: a commitment to environmental preservation that aligns perfectly with the sustainability initiatives undertaken during this trip.
Our trip contributed to the Eden Reforestation Projects in Nepal, where 1,420 trees were planted in March. It’s an incredible project that reflects NUBA’s environmental responsibility and care, explains Blanca, highlighting how integrating these values enriches each travel experience and promotes a lasting positive impact.
Moreover, during her stay in Los Cabos, she observed practices that reveal a genuine commitment to the local environment: I loved the environmental awareness in Los Cabos. The care for nature is very important to them. I was greatly impressed by the efforts to protect sea turtles and conserve their species. The hotel staff works hard to protect turtle nests during the release season, concludes Blanca.
