Welcome to a unique journey through the Iberian Peninsula, where classic cars become witnesses of fascinating landscapes and captivating cultures!
I invite you to join me on my journey through Trans-Iberia, from the enchanting Douro Valley in Porto to the majesty of the Basque Country.
Here, every turn of the wheel led me to discover hidden treasures, taste gastronomic delights and stay in historic gems, creating an exciting chapter in my adventure on wheels.
The Heart of the Douro and Classic Jewels on Wheels
The journey began among the golden vineyards of the Douro Valley in Porto, Portugal. Here, at the magnificent Hotel Douro 41, we immersed ourselves in elegance as we unloaded our legendary classics, ready to take on the road. Amidst the roar of engines and the aroma of port wine, excitement grew among participants from all over Europe.
From the classic Jaguar XK 140 to the imposing Mercedes 600, our caravan of classics was a display of elegance and power. In addition, the Porsche 911, the Renault Alpine, the unmistakable Aston Martin DB4 and the incomparable Ferrari 250 GT created a symphony of engines that resounded along the 1920 km of the Iberian Peninsula.
Challenges in Scenic Routes and Excellent Local Gastronomy
Thanks to the assistance of mechanics, doctors and a first-class logistics team, every day was a new adventure. And every mechanical challenge was creatively overcome, allowing us to continue our journey without mishap.
From the dazzling channels of the Douro to the spectacular Spanish border, we cross the incomparable Sil Canyon. The route took us to unknown corners, unique monuments and through a diverse palette of cultures and flavors. Stopping in medieval villages, enjoying Portuguese and Spanish gastronomy at every stop and tasting wines in centuries-old vineyards was the best way to discover the true essence of the Iberian Peninsula.
Dream Lodging in Boutique Hotels and Historic Paradors
Our nights were as memorable as the driving days.
From small medieval villages to the Atlantic Coast, we stayed in boutique hotels that were true gems, combining historic charm with modern luxury. The historic Paradores added a touch of authenticity to our experience, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the rich history of the region.
Gala closing in the Basque Country
The glorious end awaited us in the Basque Country, with a final day that took us to the impressive Rolls-Royce Castle and Museum in Torre Loizaga. In this essential stop for all car lovers, we had the opportunity to see the only Rolls Royce Collection in Europe with all the models manufactured between 1910 and 1990.
And, as it could not be otherwise, we finish our tour in classic cars in one of the most spectacular cities of our country, San Sebastian. A gala dinner at the majestic Hotel María Cristina was the perfect culmination for this unique experience.
The Trans-Iberica with NUBA was not only a rally, but an odyssey of luxury, culture and discovery.
Every turn led us to a new wonder, every stop was a history lesson and every meal was a feast of authentic flavors. If you are looking for the best way to explore the Iberian Peninsula, this is my undisputed recommendation.
See you next adventure!
