When we arrived in Gautegiz Arteaga, in the heart of the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, and entered this wonderful village, we were amazed at the beauty of the village and the surrounding landscape. The Orue Albízuri house, the original name of Etxelaia, sits on the structure of an old farmhouse, which in 1830 was converted into a manor house, and in the early twentieth century it was given the aesthetics that it still retains.
The coherent mix of classic elements of the house with other more modern ones aims to maintain the essence of the two hundred year old building, without giving up the comforts and conveniences of a modern home.

A unique natural environment, which, in addition to its scenic value, offers a wide range of leisure activities: hiking, water sports (canoeing, surfing, paddle surfing, etc.), cycling, art, gastronomy, culture, history, etc. We opted for a private visit to the Chillida Museum in Leku, guided by his best legacy, his grandson, who gave us a unique tour of the monumental steel sculptures, which integrate in an extraordinary way with the solemn landscape that surrounds it.

Upon our arrival at Fontanals airport, a private car was waiting for us at the foot of the runway to take us to one of the most exclusive villas in Spain, in one of the most beautiful enclaves of the Pyrenees.
Located in one of the best plots in the urbanization of the prestigious Real Club de Golf Cerdanya, it has more than 6,000 m2 (1,000 m2 built), capacity for 16 people and 8 bedrooms, the Villa is located a few meters from the golf course. Warm and elegant, with a multitude of cozy spaces both indoors and outdoors, inviting you to relax with family and friends.
The original construction (1960) of the Villa was carried out according to the project of the renowned architect Don Antonio Bonet Castellana. From 2006 to 2009, major expansions and renovations have been carried out. The rehabilitation process of the Villa has also had the invaluable dedication of the renowned architect Guillermo Bañares Parera, who has managed to preserve Bonet’s originality in the important transformation of the Villa.
In addition to a multitude of activities during our wonderful stay, we would like to highlight an experience that left its mark on us as it was a private cooking class with the holder of 5 Michelin stars, Jordi Cruz. An experience within the reach of very few and of incalculable value due to the chef’s mastery and knowledge of the kitchen.
